I don't know if I'd bite. There's no iPhone service plan I want to pay for, even if they are magical, magical devices!
I always said that, and then I finally caved and got one and OH MY GOD HOW DID I LIVE SO LONG WITHOUT IT!!!
No, don't do mobile phones at all. My 80y/o MIL does, but i don't. I don't like that people can follow me anywhere , anytime x
I remember about fifteen years ago my brother refused to talk to me until I got a phone. It was his way of forcing me into the communications future ;D
Doesn't anyone wonder why a 3 year old was left unattended long enough to make a business deal with a stranger????
That is a good question!
I am with Kim as to where was the kid's mom while the Iphone dealin' kid is negotiating a deal with a homeless guy. I don't quite get how they could sentence the guy for larceny when the kid took money for the phone. If there was a law against being an idiot that is what he should of been charged with.
I guess they figured he had to know that the kid didn't own the phone, therefore it was accepting stolen property. Mind you, one of the parties is three years old so I'm not sure if logic really has that much to do with it.
Fun article! I'm hopelessly old fashioned ~ don't have a cell phone! Grand larceny seems a bit harsh though.
I resisted getting a mobile for years, but eventually I caved. I did get rid of my landline phone though in protest! They could make me get a mobile, but they couldn't make me have both!
I'm just glad this unsupervised child wasn't harmed.
That's a good point. I wonder what his mother was doing that he had the time to sell the phone.
You hear of any kids selling a nice Triumph TR-3 you let me know, OK? $20, and I'll throw in some jelly beans, too. ;)
I'll keep an eye out for you ;D
Just another proud to be a New Yorker moment! Upstate, we are upstate...hopefully that was a ways away from here!
It's stories like this that make me want to visit New York :D
Visiting from Ahola Friday. I'd like to invite you to my Friday Flash Blog, where you can share your best blog entry of the week! The party goes on ALL weekend at thejennyevolution.com. And who knows, you may just get featured next week.
That's funny & a bit scary, the little child was alone with an iphone and a homeless man long enough to arrange a sale??
It's terrifying, isn't it. What on earth was the mother doing?
