Ah slut-shaming, you rear your ugly head once again...

I have lots of opinions.  Some of them are conservative, some rather liberal, all of them pretty strong. I believe what I believe, I know what I know, and while I don't necessarily require other people to agree with me unquestioningly, I refuse to apologise for my own standpoint.

And having given that disclaimer, sit down my children, I'm going to learn you a thing.

  1. It seems it has been this way since the beginning of time. Women who love sex are sluts. Men who love sex are studs. Sadly, I don't think this will ever change.

  2. I see you point...hmmmm...ok the girl is a slut, the guy is an ass for treating the girl like a slut (odds are she was drunk or high on something.) I am pretty liberal, but oral sex at a concert is wrong and immoral...ok oral in sex in public is ok if you don't get caught.

  3. 'tis the old 'double standard' rearing its ugly head again...in public no less...if you are female you can't win and if you do win, for Gods sake don't tell anyone.

  4. Sad but true. I doubt this is ever going to change. It feels like the last resort of a judgmental bitch who has to shame others to make himself/herself feel better.

Sex is fun. Doesn't have to be public, and it certainly isn't anyone else's business what you do and like. Our smartphone camera technology advanced way before our morals and ability for empathy.

  5. Dang, did the dude at least get ridiculed for the size of his winkie? That's all guys seem to get slammed for if it's too small.

  6. Well said. I think I read about this same sort of incident happening on a plane recently...and NOT in the bathroom. Unfortunately, the attitude that women submit to sex for the man's pleasure and are not expected to enjoy it themselves will continue, thanks to various religious teachings. Blame it all on Eve.

  7. I agree 100% that there is a double-standard and it's a shame. We really do have a long way to go as far as sexism is concerned and the way we ridicule women for things that we don't ridicule men for.

  8. The only way that double standard is going to stop is for women to publicly take control of their sexuality and tell naysayers to fuck off. Shrug. Unfortunately, that'll never happen when most of the hate is coming from insecure WOMEN: I hear "slut" (and various synonyms) from females far more often than from men. Until women stop considering each other competition and attempt to tear each other down to get ahead (ahem) with men, we won't change that ridiculous attitude.

Then again, I'm Pagan and not subject to silly "sex is dirty/women shouldn't enjoy sex/women's sexuality is owned by her spouse" ridiculousness. Shrug.

    1. I'm Pagan too, so I sometimes find it hard to understand where the hate is coming from.

  9. At an Eminem concert? Sheesh! That kinda puts an extra layer on it, because Eminem isn't exactly known for his positive portrayals of women...
